The paper represents a huge coordinated effort called the Genome Education Partnership that involves feeding data from undergraduate research projects on bioinformatics into a larger scientific data set. 14 Graduates Receive Fulbright Awards
From the May 2015 Desktop News | A record 14 University of Alabama graduates have won Fulbright awards for 2015-2016. All are alumni of the College of Arts and Sciences. Thirteen UA graduates won awards as teaching assistants to conduct research and teach abroad, and one UA graduate received a Fulbright research award. Former Roommates Establish Scholarship

The 308 Grace Street Foundation is named in honor of three founders’ college apartment. Scholarship Named for Larry Drummond
From the November 2014 edition of Desktop News | The Alabama Conservation and Natural Resources Foundation has donated $50,000 to the College of Arts and Sciences to establish a scholarship in memory of UA alumnus Larry Drummond. The scholarship was made possible from proceeds of the Alabama Governor’s One-Shot Turkey Hunt fundraiser hosted by the foundation earlier this year.
