Congratulations, Ted!

The Department is very pleased to announce that Associate Professor Ted Trost has been awarded a research grant from the Louisville Institute. The grant--which is one of six awarded for the coming year to study U.S. religious institutions--will enable him to study the United Church of Christ's recent nation-wide efforts to define its identity, notably its television ad campaigns (RealPlayer and Windows Media versions of these ads are available here).

Prof. Trost has also been awarded a year-long sabbatical that will free him of all teaching duties for the 2005-6 academic year.

The Louisville Institute, a program of the Lilly Endowment, Inc., funds research on religion in America.
