Religious Studies Lounge

The Department lounge was once a favored site of Dr. Freud's for dream analysis; you can at least stop by for a quick game of Trivial Pursuit.

In the Fall of 2001 the Department of Religious Studies established its first student/faculty lounge in Manly 212, adjacent to the Department's main office.

Over the summer of 2004 both the lounge and main office were renovated, moving the lounge to Manly 200, adjacent to the Department's newly refurbished library.

Pictured above and below are photos of the newly renovated lounge.

Students are invited to make use of the lounge during the Department's regular office hours (approximately 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.). The lounge has a microwave, refridgerator, coffee makers, as well as board games stored in the cupboard.

In adition, an internet bubble enables students who own laptops with wireless modems to surf the web.

These changes resulted from the creativity and efforts of Ms. Betty Dickey and Kim Davis, along with the assistance of various services and workers (e.g., Facilities, Electricians, Carpenters, etc.) at the University of Alabama.
