Ana Self Schuber is an academic advisor and the Program Manager for the External Degree Program with the Colleges of Continuing Studies and Arts & Sciences.

She has taught REL 234 "Women and Spirituality" for the past six years for the Departments of Religious Studies and Women's Studies. She also teaches Intro to Women's Studies. In addition, she teaches Native American Literature for the adult students of the University of Alabama's External Degree Program.

She has Masters degrees in English and in Women's Studies and is currently working on a Masters in American Studies. Her areas of interest include the study of televangelism, three-dimensional quilting, Japanese Sashiko needlework, and other folk-life traditions such as oral history and storytelling.
