REL 344
God and Moral Reasoning

Dr. Catherine Roach
e-mail: croach@nc.ua.edu

Examines ways in which a concept of God has informed Western moral discourse. It helps students engage some central texts in western theology and philosophy as they confront the basic question: why might one think that "if there is no God, all is permitted" and, conversely, why might one think that if there is no God, then human moral achievement is possible?
