Heritage: Civilization and the Jews

Based on the highly-acclaimed PBS video series, written and narrated by Abba Eban, this updated, multi-media DVD course, enhanced by lectures, discussions, and an intensive examination of additional documentary and video materials, surveys the story of a small people with a large place in the history of humankind. Topics include (1) A People is Born (3800-586 BCE), (2) The Power of the Word (586 BCE-72 CE), (3) The Shaping of Traditions (30-732 CE), (4) The Crucible of Europe (732-1492 CE), (5) Search for Deliverance (1492-2789 CE), (6) Roads from the Ghetto (1789-1925 CE), (7) The Golden Land – America (1654-1930 CE), (8) Out of the Ashes (1919-1947 CE), and (9) Into the Future (1880-2100 CE).
