Religion in Culture Lunch Series

On September 15, 2005, the fourth annual Aronov Lecturer, Prof. Amy-Jill Levine--along with her husband, Prof. Jay Geller (who, earlier, had guest lectured in Prof. Jacobs's REL 223 course)--joined students and faculty for lunch to discuss her research. The event was held in the Department's new seminar room.

An article of Prof. Levine's, published in the Spring of 2004 in the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion, was predistributed for discussion: "The Disease of Postcolonial New Testament Studies and the Hermeneutics of Healing" was available as a PDF on the secure folder (requiring your Bama ID and Password).

Prof. Levine was introduced, and later thanked, by Samantha Sastre, President of the Religious Studies Student Association. A couple Department mugs and a t-shirt accompanied Profs Levine and Geller back to Nashville.
