On September 15, 2005, the fourth annual Aronov
Lecturer, Prof. Amy-Jill
Levine--along with her husband, Prof. Jay
Geller (who, earlier, had guest lectured in Prof. Jacobs's
REL 223 course)--joined
students and faculty for lunch to discuss her research. The
event was held in the Department's new seminar room.

|
An
article of Prof. Levine's, published in the Spring of 2004
in the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion, was
predistributed for discussion: "The
Disease of Postcolonial New Testament Studies and the Hermeneutics
of Healing" was available as a PDF on the secure folder
(requiring your Bama ID and Password).
|
|
Prof. Levine was introduced, and later thanked, by Samantha
Sastre, President of the Religious
Studies Student Association. A couple Department mugs
and a t-shirt accompanied Profs Levine and Geller back to
Nashville.
