Directed
Reading Courses

Professors are available to supervise directed reading courses (during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters) with advanced students who are majoring or minoring in the Department (e.g., REL 360, 361, 460, or 461); students must take the initiative to approach a professor and propose such a course.

Online Distance
Education REL Courses

REL limits the number of seats in its online distance education courses (REL 100, 110, 112, 228; note: 900 section numbers designate distance education), so as to meet the needs primarily of off-campus students. However, on campus students can also enroll.

On campus students considering enrolling should keep in mind that REL 100 and 228 are comprised of textbook readings and PDFs of traditional distance education course booklets that are regularly emailed to the student. Once the assignments are completed and returned they are graded by an instructor affiliated with the Deparment. Distance Education versions of REL 110 and 112 are offered through WebCT.

To find REL online courses:

1. Log on to www.mybama.ua.edu.

2. Click the "Academics" tab.

3. Click the "Class Schedule" link that is located in the "Banner Self Service" box.

4. Select the term for which you want to view courses.
