Dr. Sharp received a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Alabama-Huntsville and a PhD in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University. His doctoral dissertation is A Prescriptivist Approach to Berlinian Value Pluralist Politics. His areas of specialization are Value Theory (especially work in value pluralism) and Social and Political Philosophy. His areas of concentration are Logic (formal and informal, Ancient Philosophy (Plato and Stoicism) Existentialism (Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Emerson), Modern Philosophy (Descartes, Spinoza, Kant, Hobbes), and Eastern Philosophy (Taoism, Bhagavad Gita).
