We are particularly interested in applicants in computational astrophysics.
Topics of most interest include, but are not limited to, galaxy formation, galaxy interaction,
galaxy cluster dynamics, dynamics of the early universe, the formation of the first stars,
star formation, and star cluster dynamics. Candidates in these fields utilizing data mining
of large-scale surveys should also apply. Related research groups at UA are interested in
extragalactic observation at all wavelengths, astrophysical sources of high-energy particles,
computational stellar physics, interacting binary stars and their origins, and high-energy

The minimum qualifications for this position are a Ph.D. or equivalent, postdoctoral experience,
scholarly publications, and experience with modern research techniques in astronomy and astrophysics.
Candidates for this position are expected to have an outstanding research record and exhibit
potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful
candidate is expected to develop a high quality, externally funded research program, as well
as teach and mentor at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
