About:
Dr. Catherine Roach is a New College professor who has a research focus with cultural and gender studies. Professor Roach received her Honours B.A. in 1987 and her M.A. in 1989 in Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa . Following her studies at the University of Ottawa, she received her M.A. in 1991 and Ph.D. in 1998 in Study of Religion in the Modern West at Harvard University. Her specialty fields include the following: Romance Narratives such as popular romance fiction, Sexuality in Popular Culture like exotic dancing and neo-burlesque, and Sustainable Agriculture and Food Studies like the slow food movement, organic farming, and green tourism. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, hiking, biking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
