Presentation
|
|
Although the volume was not quite ready at the
time, a bound mock-up was couriered by Equinox Publishers to San
Diego in time to present it as part of an unrehearsed moment at
the conclusion of the AAR's November 19, 2007, session on Smith's
book, To
Take Place: Toward Theory in Ritual.

Willi Braun (right), co-editor of the Festschrift,
presents the first copy to Jonathan Z. Smith.
Braun was a longtime editor of Method
& Theory in the Study of Religion and Smith was NAASR's
President from 1996 until 2002.

the bug into Braun's and McCutcheon's ears about tackling a volume
in Smith's honor.
