Faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences have access to a range of customized academic support services, including grant-writing and publishing support.

The College Academy of Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (CARSCA) is a source of funding for permanent faculty within the College.

Grant Writing

The Office for Research provides each department with a designated grant specialist.

Quality Circles

Faculty now have access to a series of grant-writing seminars conducted by David Bauer. These include seminars on:

  • Applying for and winning government grants
  • Applying for and winning foundation and corporate grants
  • Setting up a grants quality circle (evaluate grant proposals with the same system used by reviewers and grantors)
For more information, contact Dr. Beverly Roskos.

Publisher-in-Residence

George F. Thompson, an author, editor, and the founder of George F. Thompson Publishing, is available to serve as a publishing consultant to departments and individual faculty with his Publisher-in-Residence seminars. He works with faculty to demystify the publishing process and advise them on how to submit a polished manuscript or proposal. For more information, contact your associate dean.
