  • The Dixiecrat Revolt and the End of the Solid South, 1932-1968 (Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 2001).
  • Making Waves: Female Activists in Twentieth-Century Florida (Gainesville: University Press of Florida, 2003), co-edited with Jack E. Davis.
  • Currently working on a book-length manuscript entitled, “The Cold War in Dixie: Transforming the American South, 1945 to the Present.”
  • Grants, Awards, and Honors:

  • Winner of the 2002 Harry S. Truman Book Award for The Dixiecrat Revolt.
