Students and professor of The University of Alabama Department of Geological Sciences took a field trip through the region of the southernmost Appalachian mountain belt around Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee during the April of 2011.  This field trip was the culmination of a seminar which focused on learning and discussing aspects of Southern Appalachian geology.  This web site was produced by students to summarize the geology of the localities that we visited.
