He has marshaled his extensive experiences as photojournalist, administrator, teacher, international traveler, scholar and artist to considerable acclaim. Neel recently completed his second residency at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and produced a second body of figurative sculptural porcelain works that he will exhibit this year at the Huntsville Museum of Art. He holds an academic appointment as Professor of Art at Birmingham-Southern College. He has been the recipient of the Southeastern College Art Conference Artist’s Fellowship and the Alabama State Council on the Arts Fellowship.
