ARTIST LECTURE: Ridley Howard

Artist Ridley Howard will give a public lecture on Thursday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m. in Gorgas Library 205.
Georgia native Ridley Howard is a figurative painter and speaker and co-founder of the artist-run gallery 106 Green in Brooklyn, N.Y. Howard’s work has been written about in the New York Times, Art In America, Artforum, Hyperallergic, and The Brooklyn Rail, among other publications. 106 Green was listed in the New York Times,‘ “10 Galleries to Visit Now in Brooklyn” in April of 2017.
Howard received his BA and BFA from the University of Georgia, Athens, and MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. He currently shows with Marinaro Gallery, NY; Andréhn-Schiptjenko Gallery, Stockholm; and Frederic Snitzer Gallery, Miami. He has had solo exhibitions at Koenig & Clinton, New York, NY; Museum of Fine Arts Boston; and Savannah College of Art and Design. Howard will have a forthcoming exhibition at Galeria Mascota in Mexico City. Recent group exhibitions include Hope and Hazard: A Comedy of Eros, curated by Eric Fischl, Hall Art Foundation, Reading, VT; Human Condition, curated by John Wolf, Los Angeles; Atlanta Biennial, Atlanta Contemporary Art Center; and Intimisms, James Cohan Gallery, New York, NY. He has received awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Joan Mitchell Foundation, and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
