The MFA Reading Series offers graduate students an opportunity to present their creative work to their peers and professors in the university's intellectual community. Held on Friday afternoons in Morgan Hall, these events are notoriously well attended, and feature exciting, innovative and often downright bizarre work fresh from the minds populating the creative writing program. This year's organizer is Rachel Mack. See below for this year's reading schedule.
Another much anticipated event is the MFA-run open mic reading series. Held every few weeks over the course of the semester in one of the downtown watering-holes, the open mike format makes for a festive and supportive atmosphere. Everyone is invited to read their work, or just kick back and listen. Whatever your preference, it always promises to be a rousing experience.
