The College of Arts and Sciences welcomes students who transfer from another institution to our university. For students who attend Alabama state junior colleges, four-year colleges or universities, the STARS system facilitates the process of moving from that institution to this one.
For students who have attended other universities in or outside Alabama, we make every effort to evaluate your coursework as fairly as possible.
Two steps are recommended for transfer students:

Upon arrival at the University, please make an appointment with an academic advisor in the Student Services Center in 200 Clark Hall to verify your transferred coursework and see how those courses apply to your degree requirements.

We also understand that students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences may elect to take courses elsewhere during their careers. In order to make sure that the course will transfer back to UA and also to speed admission to the other institution, a letter of good standing is needed. Arrangements for obtaining this letter are discussed in the FAQs section of this site.
