Department of Anthropology College of Arts & Sciences The University of Alabama

This page is designed to serve several related purposes:

It seeks to enhance and simplify the library research projects of anthropology students at the University of Alabama...

It introduces the UA student to anthropological resources on the Internet by providing a jump station to Web sites that are particularly useful for anthropologists. The jump station is desgined with the novice in mind and is divided up into sections on Internet Basics, Internet Directories, Interesting Anthropology Sites, Regional Studies, Maps, and sites of Local Interest. (Click on Internet button).

It may prove useful to students beyond Alabama who wish to conduct basic library research in Anthropology.

Acknowledgements: This page evolved out of a lengthy class handout prepared in collaboration with Lynn Tobola. Tom Prein, Jeremy Butler, Jeff Norrell, Bryan Spencer, Jaime Sanford and Rod Riley all helped me negotiate the mysteries of html for the first time. Very special thanks are due to Kristina Anderson for her help in refining and updating this site.
